Happy birth day Sam!
Well on Monday the 19th May 2014 Sam turned 15 years of age.
WOW where has the time gone?
I know, I know, like so many other parents, I keep asking the question ‘where has the time gone?’ and as the years pass the quicker the question seems to arise. It used to be something I heard from “the oldies” and now it would seem I’m what I used to call an oldie …
Oh well, like all things, there are pros and cons. Time and age are no different – the key is in context ….
All things contextually in the best positive light.
Now moving right along …
Best Cake Ever Mum!
This year I decided to go the dark side … with a graveyard theme.
What a winner it was, not to mention a hoot for me to make.
The look on Sam’s face was priceless.
Truth be known there isn’t that much cake, as you can see. Oh, yes, the tomb stone is lodged in chocolate cake then covered in dark chocolate.
Relating with kids is such a sublime feeling – it enhances relationships, validates their interests and your acceptance of them as an individual.
To put effort into something you know they will love is a gift not only to them but to yourself.
I love being creative and to have a purpose that you know will benefit someone else gives me a sense of unexplainable fulfillment.
Aren’t our kids more than enough purpose for passion and drive? I know Sam’s existence has been a major influence on my own zest for life.
I’m already onto thoughts for next year’s celebration of the birth of my first and only child … What about you?
How do you help to make your kids feel they are special and meaningful to you?
I shall write about the personal and therapeutic benefits of the creative process and pop a link into the blog later.
Cheers for now.
